Merry Christmas!!

12.24.2004
Merry Christmas Guys...

I'm sorry for not posting for a while, the break has messed up my routine. I'll be back into things come the new year.

Here's a present... Halo2 Interview... very good, talks glitches, cuts, etc.

Check my digg news for more that i've been digging lately...

I Own Civics...

12.17.2004
Yes, today I did finish my exams... with an absolute 100 on my Civics exam. A great way to start my 2 week Christmas Vacation.

Have you been wondering how Google Suggest works? Well, you're not alone. This guy took apart that java script and rewrote it. Check out his comments here.

So, we all knew that iTunes was awesome but, no one precendented 200 MILLION DOWNLOADS! Check it out!

This guy has absolutely nothing to do and... too much money to waste it on. This gamer named 'Deathifier' has paid $26,500 for a piece of map in the MMORPG "Project Entropia". That's ridiculous; gaming is cool and all but 26 g's for a map?! Spend it on something more worthwhile...

It's Here!!! The iRiver H10 is finally available to buy. This version is aimed at competiting with the iPod mini. Check out the review here.

eBay renting? eBay said today that it purchased rent.com to expand its online real estate market share. $415 million...

So it has nothing to do with tech but, it's kinda funny.

Exams Guys, Sorry

12.16.2004
Yeah, i know... it's been a long time but, i started exams on tuesday and have been studying hard (yeah, right). So today i can post because tomorrow's only Civics, my easiest class.

So, Ask Jeeves and MSN have both released versions of a desktop search tool to compete with Google's. Come on guys, do you think that you can really compete with the almighty Google?
Download (or just laugh at) them here: MSN Ask Jeeves Get the almighty Google's Here.

So, someone had fun with Google. This guy decided to ask Google Images Search random questions and see what turns up. Actually, this is kinda funny.

So, do you think that Google is or is going to become the Antichrist? If so, you're not alone. This site (that calls it self the "Media Museum of 2014") has made a flash presentation of what it thinks will happen in 10 years to Google. Interesting, but very well thought out. (3.5/5)

So, you think that President has it easy? You try balancing the budget.

Google News: Google is going to scan famous libraries amd add its books to its index.
Google Suggest... very cool.

Yahoo Desktop, 1/2 Mile Skyscraper, Sprint/Nextel Merger, Google Suggest, iPod Flash?, Fast DDR, Accona vs. Google, SLI, etc.

12.10.2004
So, Google's hottest and newest download is Google Desktop. I've been personally been using it since beta (which it still in) and it's well worth the download. Ditch Windows Explorer, this program uses the same technology as Google's servers do. And, apparently, ever one else wants in. Yahoo, AskJeeves, and Microsoft should all have beta out before year's end. Read more on this @ Dan Huard's site. TechWeb.

Samsung won a bid to build the worlds largest skyscraper. Over a half-mile tall (2,640 feet). Total cost: $306 million. Digg Post.

It's been less than a week; and Sprint and Nextel have already agreed to a merger! The Wall Street Journal reported moments ago that the two companies have “tentatively” agreed to join forces, with Sprint swapping 1.3 of its shares for every Nextel share. Endgadget.

Google Suggest
is Google's latest addition to their array of web-searching technology. This one tries to guess what you're typing before you actually finish. Google Blog. Digg Post.

So... we will see an iPod Flash mid-January? Toshiba announced today that they will begin selling flash memory to Apple. Digg Post.

Samsung's new DDR3 DRAM reduces power consumption by 50 percent and increases memory capacity and efficiency while doubling performance. The company plans to begin production of the 512 MB DDR3 DRAM next year. Digg Post.

Accona, China's premier search engine that is being endorsed by Bill Clinton, is based on AI, which supposedly makes it return greater results than Google. Obviously Accona needs some work on its AI function or it will become like the countless others who have dared to face Google. Digg Post.

SLI? Not, good, says Dan Huard. It's just a big waste of money!

**So, I've been doing a lot of Digging over @ digg.com, so most of my post will have digg links to my diggs (or others, although most will be mine); it just makes my life a little easier.

Birthday Post

12.06.2004
Ok... today does happen to be my birthday; but, let's not dwell too long on that.

Not too much has been happening in the tech world since my last post, but here we go...

  1. IBM decides to sell their home/buisness PC share to someone. They're speculating to increase they're mainframe, server, and database. This sell will position them to buy Novell, their main competitor; who they've already invested several hundred million dollars. Dell is probably going to be the one to buy, although IBM is keeping their options open (they've just enlisted the help of a broker to find a qualified buyer.
  2. Intel, in a statment, says that support for the PII will no longer be available.
  3. Microsoft releases the last SP and updates to Windows 2000.
Ok, ok... so i lost the links to the stories, but this is basically what they said.

Find Hotspots in your city using jWire. http://www.jiwire.com/

Dan Huard, former content writer at The Screensavers, launched his own blog... very good content. Check it out!

Speaking of TechTV, some website is trying to buy back TechTV from Comcast. Since acquiring TechTV, Comcast has merged it with it's "never-going to be successful" gaming network, G4. Since this merge, TechTV has become more and more crap than the good it used to be. BOYCOTT COMCAST!!!

So, since that's outta the way; let's talk about birthday. Since birthdays mean presents, i asked for a new laptop. In this, i decided to go with a Windows-based. For all of you who read this blog (actually, all of you who don't); post a comment on you favorite Windows Laptop or yout fav Apple and why i should use it. Thanks.

PS... Check out digg... very good site; although still in beta.
